I saw a fantastic performance of The Consul last night. I'd never actually gotten to see a Menotti opera before.

Awesome! I saw The Consul at Opera Boston two years ago and it was amazing. I want to see The Medium—or Vanessa, for which he wrote the libretto—next.

I want to see The Medium, too. And Vanessa, but at least I've seen people do Must the Winter a billion times over. There's a new recording of it with Susan Graham that I'm really tempted to buy.
