Apropos of nothing (but while I'm at it, congratulations), I saw a fantastic performance of The Consul last night. I'd never actually gotten to see a Menotti opera before.
I want to see The Medium, too. And Vanessa, but at least I've seen people do Must the Winter a billion times over. There's a new recording of it with Susan Graham that I'm really tempted to buy.
Oh, just to check, since I've been listening to it lots today — you do have recording of "The Unicorn, the Gorgon and the Manticore," right? If not let me know and I'll try and remember to rip tracks and put them up on Yousendit or something.
These are the kind of things that happen when I take a day off from the internets. Excellent, in any case; I am digging the very New Englandy vibe the last couple things of yours I've seen have, especially as I have been feeling a little alienated in my writing from our shared native soil. I've been in hills and prairie a lot recently, and it feels very strange. So thanks for sending home along in dark and secret ways.

Awesome! I saw The Consul at Opera Boston two years ago and it was amazing. I want to see The Medium—or Vanessa, for which he wrote the libretto—next.

Actually, I do not!

And while I'm at it, the libretto (though it's missing a few very important stage directions!).
