And last night I dreamed of reading a collection of short stories from the next universe over where Rudyard Kipling was an Anglophile rakshasa. If my subconscious was trying to say something about cultural appropriation, I think it missed the boat.

in "Ring of Fire" the narrator is indeed a rhakshasa, and is doing a fair Kipling imitation. Probably intentionally.

I have read "Ring of Fire." (I'm very fond of the collection in which it appears.) You do awesome historical settings.

It certainly likes to eat British people.
