Shining east of your face

At the end of this high-pain, low-sleep week, I get to feel smug because I successfully parallel-parked in Harvard Square. [personal profile] rushthatspeaks and I sat on wooden park chairs that had partly blown over in the lion-winds with my lemon-ginger-honey and his really chocolate cookie. WERS played Belly's "Feed the Tree" (1993), Band of Horses' "Is There a Ghost" (2007), and Sharon Van Etten & The Attachment Theory's "Afterlife" (2024). I have now heard Inhaler's "Your House" (2024) at least three times on two different college radio stations in the last forty-eight hours. My niece has returned to town.

P.S. Close to sunset, [personal profile] spatch and I went for a walk.

I continue to love this mirror's shield-boss reflection of the world.

The stamp of old industries.

The remnant of a streetcar system's overhead line.

I think "Feed the Tree" makes the boy more uncomfortable than any other single musical composition, because he looks at me now -- fat, which I was; matronly, which I wasn't; un-cool and relentlessly tragically behind the times and a little trapped by the body I live in; and he wonders and I just watch him wonder and smile with one of my teeth out over my lip.

I love the way your photos find art in the world. The colours on that metal company stamp are lovely, as is the sky.

Wishing you less pain and more sleep soon <3

Heads up that Belly is coming to the Paradise on Oct 23. I think Feed the Tree is the only song of theirs I actually know but I was invited by friends.

Also supreme gold star for the parallel parking in Harvard Square. Not sure if I would even dare to try.

The first and third photos make me think of Spirograph drawn in the air with cables instead of lines of ink.

I have now heard Inhaler's "Your House" (2024) at least three times on two different college radio stations in the last forty-eight hours. --It's arrived! I'll take a listen ;-)

Based on your reply here, I listened to the song without watching the video, and yes! It is catchy! Thank you.

Parallel parking in Harvard Square is no mean feat!

Also, your eye for a picture remains wonderful.
