And so I feed him sandwiches to show I understand
It feels frankly unfair that I should have a viral sore throat on top of a sinus infection, yet here we are. My day has been somewhat rearranged.
JewBelong has put up a new billboard in Porter Square. I thought they had lost the plot the very first time I encountered them, but lo and behold, this slogan is worse. I got home and played several rounds of "Daloy Politsey."
Conversation last night touching on newts reminded me that I remain slightly sorry that Gussie Fink-Nottle and Madeline Bassett never worked out in the long run, because I consider it comedy platinum to ship the nerdiest man in interwar England with a woman who explains all natural phenomena by fairies sneezing.
I believe this apprehensive person to be a junction box, and even if not, their expression is intensely relatable.

Oh, it really is. /o\ I see last time what I said was why. even., so I will let that stand for both times, only maybe going double this time.
That junction box character is amazing, though! I'm glad there was something worth looking at on the streets for you.
And very sorry about multiple illnesses jumping you at once. That sounds like a particularly nasty cocktail mix to be handed. *hugs*

Amen. I do not understand their deal and I don't need to, but I would like their deal to stop being such a shande.

I felt instantly, albeit abstractly, sympathized with. I'm trying to figure out what I could do to cheer a junction box up.

Thank you. I am feeling a little bit flattened.

(You are right: an entirely relatable mood. I turn to Aves do Brasil for most of my relatable moods--this was a recent one.)

Just imagine the bedtime stories their kid would have grown up with. Somehow they all involve digressions into the practices of the juvenile newt.

Yiddish anarchist songs? Or maybe some lesser-known Flanders & Swann?

You understand!

It's up the street from my favorite local donut place, but all I could do would be to leave them in a sort of shrinelike fashion at the foot of the pole.

I have not seen a bird with a more eloquent eyebrow since Effin' Birds.

I couldn't figure out the first time and I'm even less sure now, except I'd probably punch them socially.

That Effin' Bird is absolutely bringing top eyebrow game.

Wow, that new slogan. Also, why? Ugh. They should go read some Grace Paley or Irena Klepfisz or Emma Goldman.

I feel similarly about the billboard.

It has always been my firm conviction that Aunt Dahlia finally took Gussie and Madeleine firmly in hand to bring off the nuptials, if for no other reason than to keep either of them from popping up at Brinkley Manor again, dragging their love problems with them. Tho she was a sporting woman, and paid her debts, such as the one she powed Mr. Spink-Botte for the unparalled entertainment value of the Market Snodsbury Prize giving.

Thank you. I am very tired and would rather be writing about movies.

Right? Your icon is excellently relevant.

Their existence has already improved my day, thank you. Please say hi to the geckos and skinks for me if you get a chance.
I feel similarly about the billboard.
I am seriously wondering who I write to about it. I don't live in the City of Cambridge, but it still takes up space in my eyes.

I appreciate the thought! They seem to be well on their way to a patch of the Indian Ocean.

Honestly. I have to look at that thing every time I want to go to the new Porter Square Books location. We have a right to object. In any case, I just spent some time blundering around the internet researching this, and my best guess so far is "...uhhhh, send an email to Cambridge City Hall?" I'll check in if I come up with better ideas. (In case you find this cheering, one of the reddit threads I ran across on the way was titled "get this shit off the porter billboards" which was refreshingly direct.)

Absolutely. Solidarity.

A great crested comment.

That's a real Muppet of a junction-box.

It would have been a classic! (I can't believe Ursula Vernon has never drawn any newt fairies that the internet will show me.)
That's a real Muppet of a junction-box.
It looks like it's making that anxious little noise of Kermit's.

The junction box, at least, is both friend-shaped and deeply relatable.

I don't know who it's for! Everyone I know would vandalize it with a quarter of a chance!

Yes! I plan to walk back to visit it. It seems rude not to.
