On the one hand it is incredibly stupid that I had to rescue the car from its wheel-spinning stall in refrozen snow with a box of cat sand fetched from the front hall, but on the other I feel incredibly smug that it worked.

Thank you! It left a clay smear on the snow and the street will not notice when it melts. Frankly it might improve the state of the asphalt.
