rushthatspeaks came over this afternoon and we did not watch any of the movies we talked about, but we did order dinner from
Jahunger and practically buzz our tongues off with Sichuan pepper from the hand-pulled noodles and the cold chicken. I had never had Uyghur cuisine before. Next time we'll order from
Silk Road. The seven-layer honey cake was indeed not the typical thing.
Hestia yesterday morning was incredibly stealthy.

Hurray for husband time! What films did you talk about?

I would offer you a slice, except that as all cats know, stolen foods taste best.

Thank you! Mostly stuff from the '80's, although I had just heard of Shinoda Masahiro's Demon Pond (1979) and am obviously intrigued, and we still need to catch up on Robert Eggers' The Northman (2022) before his Nosferatu hits the stands, which means in our future is almost certainly Herzog's Nosferatu (1979) first.

And Hestia's stealth is top notch, 10 out of 10, captures the spirit of undetectability if not the practice.

Yes! Silk Road has been around for a while, but Jahunger is a new arrival. I'm hoping it indicates some presence of diaspora.

How dare one be so rude as to notice her.

So Halloweenish, so very atomic.

I'm glad you got to try Uyghur cuisine! I keep meaning to try some.

Absolutely undetectable.

On the experience of one meal, it's a cuisine I really like!
