You said if we ever married, I would be the man
Almost exactly a year after the first time it to my very displeased surprise happened, I got stuck in the radial nerve of my left arm during another blood draw and now my left hand is once again filled with pins and needles until further notice. I protest the idea that it should be an annual occurrence. Sleep didn't even happen first. I am feeling very nonexistent. Have some links.
1. This article about Anndy Pershing turned up when I was trying to find an official link for the Wild Bill Elliott Westerns—in vain, since thanks to the cartoon villainy of David Zaslav most of the Warner Archive no longer seems to exist as such—and while I don't think I have actually ever seen the horse in question, reading it did make me want to excavate my copy of Marguerite Henry's Justin Morgan Had a Horse (1945).
2. It's not that I can't parse the slightly antique sense of the English, but I need someone like Eliza Carthy or Fay Hield or Kate Rusby to record Jake Xerxes Fussell's "Breast of Glass," because a verse that runs Don't you remember, Molly? You gave me your right hand. You said if we ever married, I would be the man is crying out for no heterosexual explanation, especially in a song where the seafaring of "Handsome Molly" is fused with the heart-written secret of "Blackest Crow." Back me up here,
selkie.

P.S. In the back pocket of a pair of pants he hadn't worn in years,
spatch found our household's other mermaid talisman, I believe originally from
ladymondegreen. He gave it to me tonight to look after me.

Just statistically!

Glad the universe has given you back a mermaid, if not the one that recently went wandering.

Either of those would be charming and distressing simultaneously.

Thank you.

I have correspondences like that.

Potential for a zombie version, too?

Thank you. It's improved by today, but still present. I described the sensation to my mother as "a glove full of bees." It never did fade entirely after last year and I am really hoping I have not just accrued more permanent nerve damage.

I appreciate that. I have a lot of skepticism built up against the idea of recovering from nerve damage because it never really happened with my face despite encouragement from doctors at the time. (Also, I'm just glad to hear it's been true for you.)

I am glad a lost mermaid turned up, though, even if a different one. That is something. *hugs*

I don't think I have very complicated elbows! People drew blood from them for years without incident! Bruises at most!

I'm either "I hate getting up", "I need a vacation", or "I need sleep"--I can't choose! XD

Thank you on both counts!

They're all so relatable!

Ugh! Having this happen to you more than once is really adding insult to injury.

I had blood drawn for years without it happening! Decades! I have written to my PCP to ask if I can have a note in my chart that says something like "butterfly needles for this patient only, for the love of leeches."

Oh, I'm glad to hear this!

Thank you!

I like that.

Pins and needles: yeesh! I hope the "until further notice" gets notice soon and stops.

Fair enough!

Thank you! It is definitely better, I just want it gone.

Yergh. I hope you heal quickly from your medical care.
Always good to have a divinity in your back pocket?

Thank you! Yeah.

I like this way of thinking of it.
