I had not expected to be shot in the shoulder this afternoon, but since I was right there with spatch for his latest jab against COVID-19, the staff of the Theatre Pharmacy offered me the same and I filled out the paperwork immediately. I had not brought my vaccine card, but was kindly sent home with a little sticker to keep my records up to date. The ability to purchase and eat a caramel bull's-eye after a minor medical procedure feels very old-school. My mother fed us tom kha gai and chicken satay and massaman curry and khao tom mad for antibody-building sustenance and Rob took a picture of me with his eyes closed. My plan for the rest of the evening is to lie on the couch and wait for my arm to fall off.

Thanks! It's a blind test, but I'm past the 6 week mark so now I actually know - let me check my phone - it was the Pfizer XBB.1.5 booster. My husband - rdm had the other one. AstraZeneca I think.

Same, and, honestly, same. Our government just stopped issuing the free monthly tests that had been such a lifeline and the CDC has declared it's just fine to test positive for COVID and walk freely among the public so long as you're not running a fever. We are trying very hard to stay safe. I wish you the best of luck.

Apparently they are officially called Caramel Creams, but they are essentially an outer ring of chewy caramel with a stiffer vanilla cream center, presumably sliced along the same principles as millefiori or cut rock. They have been wrapped in the same transparent twist of cellophane with red-and-white logo for as long as I can remember. My grandparents used to keep them in the house. I always thought they were old-time candy and they seem to be older than my grandparents.

Oooooh interesting! I don't believe we have those here; maybe they're a regional thing. I was envisioning some cross between lollipop and larger spiraled caramel nut confection. The name caramel cream sounds like an echo of the Commonwealth, a la custard cream and similar.

I should not be writing about these things while hungry. Doubly so while the apartment begins to smell delightfully of simmering curry spices. Whoops. :P

Very few appearances. Origin story changed at least once nonetheless. May have started out as a tramp who became a force for social justice but then turned into a cop posing as a tramp for social justice. Belonged to the generation of superheroes where he may not have needed any powers per se, just a costume and a concept. Cannot remember his name at all.
