I saw into the future
I have received my latest shot in the shoulder, which I have been informed is no longer considered a booster, merely the most current formulation of the COVID-19 vaccine after the fashion of a seasonal flu shot. I am sure it would not assuage the national surfeit of magical thinking if it were further reframed as an exorcistic incantation—the Erra epic in injectable form—but it would entertain me. I'm going to lie down.

I hope it does, but I'm still glad you're booked.

I'm getting mine...eventually? The "three months after an infection" guideline would put me in late November or early December, given my impeccably suboptimal timing in finally getting COVID only weeks before the new formulations were available. (And I tested positive after traveling for a family funeral, because the universe was doing That Thing.)
The mild silver lining is that this means I don't have to stress about finding a place to get it now.
(I will still get the flu shot fairly soon.)

*hugs*, obviously.

I got shingles #1 a week ago. This week I'll get, hmmmm... RSV, maybe? I've seen something about, you should get that one when exposure is more likely. If not RSV, then flu. Covid I'll do in late October as winter closes in. We are still moderately outdoors-weather here, apart from rain, as far as socializing goes. For indoor activities like the shops and museum, of course, some of us never stopped masking...

I didn't think I was jumping the gun! I plan on flu and RSV when I recover from this one. It's hitting me harder than the last shot, which is interesting.

I'm glad you have a schedule in mind. I'm still not doing indoor activities unless errands and doctors' appointments count, but always masked. I miss museums.

I hope I'm getting mine tomorrow, if the local pharmacy has supplies to support the appointments it's let people make. Flu vax, too.

Fingers crossed for both of yours.

May the current reality distortion not interfere with your actual rest.

Thank you!
story idea
Epics coded into DNA and injected into living vascular beings. What would the effects be in various magitek settings? (AFAIK with my wee education the actual effect would be messy useless proteins and/or nothing).
Re: story idea
I kind of want to point either

Thank you! It's an eighth-century BCE Babylonian epic about the eponymous god of plague and political turmoil who almost destroys humanity with the assistance of the mysterious and terrifying Seven, whose annihilating rampage is satisfied at the last minute by the much more controlled and directed campaign conducted by his minister Išum. It's a weird, brutal, uncelebratory piece, but its relevance is that portions of its text were used apotropaically, as amulets against strife and illness and plague.
