If you ask me what my name's for, it's so I'll never go astray

We celebrated the first night of Hanukkah chaotically, with latkes and lox and automotive repair after my brother arrived with a broken tensioner, and it was good. [personal profile] spatch and I exchanged books and [personal profile] rushthatspeaks and I exchanged IOUs. My parents gave us a vacuum cleaner with which we plan to terrorize the cats tomorrow. My niece lit the first night's candle: for the children. Our menorah survived the move intact.

Happy Hanukkah! These all sound like good things.

Cassie is a worried cat as a rule, but it turns out that she just will not give way to the vacuum cleaner. I sometimes have to bodily move her. Other times she will veeerrrry slowwwwly rise up, carefully stretch all four legs, and amble away, generally to lie down again right in the only path for the vacuum cleaner to reach its destination.

I do wonder what your little cats will think and do.

I noticed a cat today that was contentedly lying in the middle of the road just up from my house. It's not the busiest road, but given twilight on a cold, drizzly grey day and a black cat on black tarmac, that struck me as taking the feline 'this is _my_ place' to extremes.

That is next-level, but not exactly safe. Best wishes to that cat. P.

She is the best obstruction.

Autolycus' and Hestia's reactions seem just exactly like them. They made me smile and smile.
