I keep having to be reminded that poppies are for Memorial as well as Armistice Day, but as they are both effectively festivals of the underworld, I really should remember. Having been traveling in the last few days, I saw far too many flag-waving billboards exhorting to support the troops. The dead are always easier to take care of.

It is more difficult to give people what they need if they cannot tell you.

(I am also, inexorably, stuck remembering what happens when they do ask and still aren't given it.)
