Happy solstice, even if where I am it rained all through the shortest night and the longest day appears to be continuing the tradition. Summer comes in anyway. The year keeps turning.

Happy solstice to you as well. It rained all night here too, which seems strange to me given how far apart we are. I guess that's just the kind of year it is.

It cleared by evening! Deep blue late dusk. spatch and I joined my parents for dinner and then my mother went home and my father came with us to the Harvard Museums' Solstice Celebration. We got three out of four museums and some Greek music. It was great.

Everything that can do so in cooler temperatures than generally occur is really going to town and walking around in its best bonnet, though. The peonies are amazing.

What a lovely solstice after all!

David has taken some photos of the peonies, and also of the white Dutch clover and wild chamomile on the boulevard, but he's still fussing with them. I'll point people at them as soon as he's done. I could also, of course, take some lesser ones of my own once, once things calm down early next week.
