Tell me where the light will go and I will chase it
It's the season, but these last few weeks have felt especially dark and especially cold. There's no snow on the ground, but it's been raining all day. Everyone's sick. The light dies out of the sky before you can do anything with it.
So we light the candles for Hanukkah and we tell stories of resistance and we are still here; that's the important part. Show me the Seleucids who can say the same.

I would in fact consider your child a fairly terrifying thing to have come roaring down on one out of the hills, fueled by righteous anger and faster-than-light metabolism. So tell them to keep it up.
Making the light is all we can do.
*hugs*
You shine.
