Save all the undertakers' bills, let the mermaids flirt with me
I am on Cape Cod.

Specifically I am on Corporation Beach. I picked up a slipper shell and three pebbles, two white quartz, one soft grey with a water-white line through it. Later we walked through a salt marsh as the sun was setting; I saw a family catching green crabs on the end of a line baited with chicken. There have been excellent fried clams and excellent soft-serve ice cream. Everything smells like salt here. There is excellent sea.

Figurehead mode:
(On the boardwalk through the salt marsh at Bass Hole or Grays Beach.)

You look perfectly at home, and perfectly content. (I always think of you as barefoot on a seashore or salt marsh on some existential level, even when you're on a sidewalk or in a hotel conference room, so it's really cool to see photos that capture that. I am very glad you're having a weekend with the sea.)

Well, I'm not looking for an undertaker, either.
And all the ones up the Cape are bored and old, though you of all people might find one who remembers the night the Sparrowhawk went down.
I shall let you know what I hear.

I have eaten
All the clam bellies
Which my kid would probably
Crinkle up at biting anyway
Forgive them,
They’re kinda dumb
But like I said,
I got this

That sounds lovely. (I like the image of the most recently ruined castle.) This year there were warnings about sharks on the Cape, but I did not see any.
That name...
Re: That name...
It's next door to Cold Storage Beach, which is my favorite. I think they're named after the streets that run down to them.
Re: That name...
I've got this interest in street names, of course, and seeing "Corporation Road" leading to it, and just down the way, "Bleak House Circle"...?
Re: That name...
I can't account for local tastes. I like "Outward Reach," myself.
