There's a jar of salt water sits behind my eyes
Thank you to everyone who shouted out, signal-boosted, reviewed, or just sent congratulations for the release of Forget the Sleepless Shores. I had a wonderful book birthday.
spatch took me out in the evening for smoked salmon and blutwurst at Bronwyn. People kept saying nice things about my book.
Then, of course, my body being the body that it is, I spent most of yesterday feeling absolutely horrific. So it goes. People are still saying nice things.
Today is my brother's birthday observed, so I expect to be away from keyboard. I leave you with Zero Mostel and his beautiful, timeless performance of "The Lost Airplane."

It is not yet available as an e-book, but it will be soon and I will absolutely shout about it when it is, because I know it's the preferred option for many people.

I mean, if you're trying to be creepy that's one thing, but I buy books in hardcopy on general principle. I read them better that way.
except A Mayse-Bikhl which I just barely barely could maybe have afforded when it came out, didn't get it, and will be cursing myself for that ever afterward.
I wish I had an extra copy to sell you author-direct! I am sorry that I do not.
(There have been plans in the past to release a second edition and, should that happen, you will certainly hear about it.)

A second edition would rock! I had forgotten the lesson I learned very early as a used bookstore person: if you see something you want and it is in limited quantities, GET IT, don't think about it and come back later. It will be gone. (At least this always happened to me.)
Of course this is also why I now have 9,645 books shelved and stacked and piled and propped all over my apartment. "Do you really need this Guide to Albuquerque Apartments from 199 -- " "YES. PUT IT DOWN."

Digital is impermanent. It's an archival black hole. I am feeling especially unfriendly toward it right now.

It is now!

Yay, good! I'm sorry about your body not playing along, though. I hope your brother's b'day went as well as the book's.

Thank you! We made him dinner and a cake and gave him presents. He seemed to enjoy it!

HOORAY!
That is wonderful news; I very much hope you enjoy!

This makes me happy.
[edit] As I slowly learn the ways of self-promotion: if you like the rest of the collection as well as that story, please leave reviews in all the relevant places!
