Life is a honeymoon phase

I was awakened at eight-thirty this morning by the return of construction, this time with bonus rock-breaking and cement-cutting bandsaws. I have not slept since.

I was just notified by the Mass Cultural Council that I did not win the fellowship I applied for in January; my work as a writer of fiction and nonfiction was not recommended for funding this cycle.

I am so tired I feel like I'm vibrating and I have not written anything of substance in days.

I am definitely, after today's appointment, going to the sea.
