And I'd pass the time like some machine
Last night: pain, allergies. We re-made the bed around six in the morning so that my skin would stop trying to crawl off itself. Then around nine o'clock the construction started. Behind the house, they are cutting down and woodchipping trees; in front they are jackhammering off the concrete steps and the paved walk of the other half of the duplex, so the noise and the ear-shattering vibration comes right up through our walls. It woke me before my alarm did. I am wearing earplugs in my own office. My day was already slated to be physically exhausting. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and another the day after that and then on Friday I have to travel, to help friends out of town move. I have no idea how the hell the rest of this week is going to work.
Twelve years after seeing and somewhat imprinting on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest (2006), I am pleased to have discovered that the incredibly catchy "Two Hornpipes (Tortuga)" is actually "Fisher's Hornpipe." I like this version.
