Shoot the water, baby, I've been found
1. The plumber came and we have a working sink!
2. My forthcoming collection now has a formal cover, because it now has ARCs, because it is coming out in August:

Art by D.G. Smith, design by Alex Jeffers. The jacket photograph (not visible) was taken by Rob Noyes, the day we walked the bridges. If anyone has suggestions on where to send ARCs beyond the usual suspects, I will take them. I have not had a short story collection to promote in thirteen years.

Thank you!
(When the book comes to exist, would it be appropriate for me to ask if you are willing to review it?)

Thank you! It's the kind of art I would love even if it were not on my book.

Sinks may seem prosaic compared to forthcoming collections, but they are also important, so three cheers for that as well.

I will very definitely tell everyone I know, possibly until they are tired of it. Thank you!

Thank you also! I am actively enjoying having a not-broken sink!

I am working on a website. I don't think I can be on Twitter healthily. As far as I can tell, it is designed as a platform to do exactly the sort of thing I have spent years building structures against my brain doing on its own time. I wish it were not considered as normal and requisite as having a phone number.

Thank you! I am looking forward to it as well, and trying not to be irrationally nervous that critics will just hate it.

Thank you on both counts!

You should send me an ARC, my vast network of resources...doesn’t exist, don’t do that, it would get you nothing, terrible idea.
But maybe message the Lady Business blog right here on DW? They do spec short fiction reviews and have a big enough audience to get a Hugo nod for best fanzine last year?

We have no idea! It was not explained to us! The faucet was "no good."

I mean, I would still like to know what you think of the stories when they come out.

Thank you! That is exactly the sort of thing I should know about and do not! I have written to them.

Well, if they won’t tell me, I’ll just have to carry on assuming that faucets work because the tiny gnome civilization in them have bucket brigades, and all your gnomes died.

Thank you! I love the art by itself, so having it on top of my words just makes me happy.
