I worked a lot. I walked in the late afternoon. There was a train while I was overlooking the tracks on Pearl Street. There were cats when I got back. It reminds me of a short movie Andrew always wanted to make: Hi, Mom!, a mock-documentary about a man whose mother jokingly told him as a child that he was so weird, he must be from another planet. He grows up and becomes an astronomer, for the sole purpose of one day getting a chance to send out a message to his “real” mom, wherever she may be in the universe.

I also hope something nice happened in the present day today, because argh. But that info about the Martians is delightful.

It also delights me that it was Szilárd who came up with the name, because I read his fiction as a child before I had any idea of him as an important physicist. And also because the idea of being an alien has always resonated with me, and I am not surprised that it has resonated with people as long as it's existed.
