You must have just the right bullets and the first one's always free

I didn't get to sleep until five in the morning on account of being sick and [personal profile] spatch slept patchily around me and I dreamed I had shot someone (who exists in real life and did me real harm) and in the dream I kept falling asleep and dreaming I had never killed them, which was a relief, then waking up and having to remember it was real, which was awful, to the point that actually waking up was disorienting and I wasn't sure if anyone I knew was dead and the police were looking for me and I was lying to everyone I knew or not. So that was unnecessarily noir. I also dreamed that people kept coming in and out of our house and taking things and leaving the doors open and endangering the cats, which was just a nightmare but nonetheless not an experience I recommend. Tonight is my family's annual Hanukkah party, which I will be attending in a sort of antiseptic fashion: usually I help make and serve the chicken and the latkes and the whatever else we fry, but not this time. Typhoid Mary is a terrible life goal.

[edit] It was a very nice party, including my uncle who normally lives outside the U.S., two family friends who hadn't seen me since I was twelve, and phone pictures of [personal profile] a_reasonable_man's daughter's sweet-faced French bulldog. Now I'm going to fall over.

How was horse-headed, roller-skating Sense and Sensibility?

[personal profile] skygiants is writing it up as I type! :D As it turned out, no one was horse-headed (though people did mime being horses and dogs on occasion) nor wearing roller skates (though all the furniture and scenery was on wheels, and used liberally to whiz people about), but it was very well done, and also very funny.
