She said don't ride motorcycles two feet off the ground

I don't feel like I have a lot to report about my life lately, but I am trying not to disappear. The first half of today was primarily characterized by being terrible and the second half included stressful financial errands, but also a really good bagel (chased with a donut, so that it took me until dinner to eat something that was not toroidal), driving a car for the first time in nearly ten years (around a parking lot, because I didn't want anybody to die, but it was surprising and reassuring how much I had not forgotten), making a double batch of brownies with a heavy concentration of chocolate chips and sour cherries, and curling up with [personal profile] spatch to watch Howard Hawks' Only Angels Have Wings (1939), a late birthday present courtesy of Criterion's half-off sale last week. I truly love that movie and need to write about it one of these days. I need to do a lot of things, like sleep more and not be in so much pain.

Good for you for testing out driving.

A bagel chased with a donut sounds like wakanomori's idea of perfect comfort food. Note the world: if a character ever exists who eats only toroidal food, let them be named either sovay or wakanomori!

I pray for your relief from all stresses and pains: financial, mental, physical, and in any other categories.

Cheerios and Lifesavers might also work.

If you get short of protein, you can have whitings with their tails in their mouths.

Best wishes for improved sleep, and sympathy for the pain.

I wish you better sleep and a lot less pain.

Those brownies sound delicious.

I need to do a lot of things, like sleep more and not be in so much pain.

Well, here's to that! <3

I'm super amused by the toroidal food trend. Also, I'm now nostalgic for living in a place where you can (mostly) get by without driving. I drive far less than most, out here in the wild west, but it's still a necessary skill.

We all need to sleep more. Here's hoping.

I'm currently working on the new Steven Brust novel, _Vallista_. It contains a piece of dialogue that resonated strongly with me, and I think might with you:
“The problem isn't the pain, you see. It's the not dancing. I hate not dancing.”

Well. Toruses are good, at least.

I'm very sorry to hear about the pain - and also sleeplessness. Thank you for not disappearing (and now saying that I think but don't put any pressure on someone to write things when what's important is the sleeping and the stopping of the pain - so while I'm very glad you haven't disappeared, if you need to take a break for your well-being's sake, of course do.)
The chocolate and sour cherry brownies sound wonderful.
Best wishes for sleep tonight and for the pain to ebb away.
