Overheard tonight on the bus to Davis Square, two teenagers giggling behind me:

"Little mushrooms growing out of your skull . . . Eat a huge meal and then just go up on the roof and die."

It seems counter-productive, yet I'm still interested.

I just assumed you get a better radius on the spores from the top of the house than if you're still in the kitchen or wherever when the burst happens.
