He looks very pleased with himself. Also, I can see and admire some of his extra toes.
It was the way he reached up and patted with the one paw and then turned right on time to the camera: it me, Mr. DeMille. He's a wonderful cat.
I'm glad you can see the polydactylism! I'm not sure if I have any pictures right now where it's really shown off, but you see what I mean about the double paws? He just folds them around things like mittens. And then he puts the things in his mouth and walks off proudly.
What a terrific photo! I wish the photographer had moved about four inches to the right, to frame your shoulders and hands around the cat. So beautiful, with that spark of laughter!

Thank you! I think derspatchel was working quickly, before Autolycus decided to withdraw his paw.
I think both of them always have. Cats are naturals at inconvenience, which is not the same thing as irony, Alanis Morissette, but which frequently produces similar situational results.
I feel confident our Autolycus would do the same if we left it lying around the house. In the absence of a helmet, he carries off bottlecaps, plastic milk rings, all manner of cat toys, and does his best to snap up the unconsidered trifles of other people's dinners.

Also, I suspect that of being a Paw Of Ownership, with which I am familiar.

I seriously think these cats are the best mental health decision I could possibly have made in 2014.
Also, they're really cute.

"Autolycus, master of thievery"...
Stole Odysseus's helmet, that's tricky!
