She's a long one, such a long one
I just heard a train whistle go by in the night. I'm glad I can still hear them from my new apartment. I hate moving so much.
derspatchel and
schreibergasse and my parents helped heroically. Hestia is back to hissing at her brother to express her displeasure with the chaotic situation, but when it is not three in the morning I will hang pictures and unpack the kitchen and eventually put up my bookcases and my books. Right now there is the photograph of Lyndell's in the kitchen and a B. Kliban ex-pillowcase on the wall as the Banner of the Cat. We just finished hanging the shower curtain. I have to find a way to sleep. I am lousy mental shape right now, but at least I shouldn't have to move for another year.

Thank you! I slept into the afternoon today and am trying to gear up to deal with the wilderness of boxes, but I have nothing else scheduled (including work), which is a good thing because it is surprisingly difficult to deal with a wilderness of boxes when there are interested cat parties involved.

By the end of the night they had piled in to sleep on us, no catnip necessary, which was very heartwarming. Thank you!

May the rest of the moving in be less mentally and physically stressful.
I'm so glad the four of you can finally be in one place.

I don't think I've ever heard a ferry in the night. Like a ship's horn?
May the rest of the moving in be less mentally and physically stressful.
Thank you. I still need to retrieve a lot of art, the books and bookshelves cannot be moved until next week, and there are fragile things and random extraneous furniture in various storage locations, but the basic setup where people can sleep and cook and feed the cats (always crucial) is established. Proper internet arrives with Verizon next week.
I'm so glad the four of you can finally be in one place.
Thank you. We are hoping.

What town/general area did you move to?

What town/general area did you move to?
Winter Hill, Somerville. I am actually quite close to my first Somerville apartment of 2013, although I like this location better: I am literally five to eight minutes' walk from the Somerville Public Library. At the moment the place is cavernous and full of boxes, but my first order of business is to unpack the kitchen and my brother and his truck will help move the books and bookshelves next week and if I can get some art up on the walls I think it will feel much more like a home. The cats are helping.

Good luck with the rest of moving.

Oh, cool.
Good luck with the rest of moving.
Thank you! My brother and his truck should be arriving to help with the books and bookcases on Wednesday.

I'm sure it's less so if you can afford to do it professionally, but I cannot believe the stress goes to zero. It's amazing. Thank you.

Thank you! It is still not really unpacked yet (I basically spent today in two different movie theaters with time off in the middle for dinner), but it feels good to me.
