I have been wearing my Behemoth T-shirt all day in honor of our black cats. It is their second birthday today. We just fed them the ceremonial smoked salmon: we had planned to serve it fancily, in shreds atop their regular dinner, but Autolycus moved in on the plate while derspatchel was doing the slicing and all of a sudden there was less salmon than there had been and so instead I hand-fed Hestia while Rob made sure Autolycus got enough fish without just inhaling it. Regular dinner was served afterward. There was much purring. Rob posted a picture of the Pisces cats, taken at Leonard Street when they were "just little shavers," as my husband puts in. He is holding Autolycus now, stretched out otter-fashion in his arms. Hestia is out prowling her territory now that the party at Jan and desireearmfeldt's is winding down. These cats are so important to us. Many more birthdays of fur and fish.
