Oh dear. Nine hours in the ER sounds like a horrific mix of terrible worry and (based on my few experiences, where you spend a lot of time waiting for someone to tell you just how worried you should be) terrible boredom. I hope you find something with either more soothing boredom or more nurturing excitement.

Thank God, I had brought a book and my mother had brought a book and rushthatspeaks had brought multiple books and so I did not go totally out of my mind, but there was way too much waiting with no information and nothing else to do. It was as bad as an airport.
I hope you find something with either more soothing boredom or more nurturing excitement.
In my experience worse than airports, at least in airports you can go find things to amuse yourself/get away from screaming kids....
That sentence initially ended "almost as bad as an airport. At least at airports they don't prod you" and then I remembered, no, never mind, now they do.
Also, eeek! Hoping for sensible doctors and a quick resolution.
Thank you. Sensible doctors is an important factor here.
Glad you had books and company, and best wishes for an uneventful weekend in this regard.
Thank you. I was really hoping to see Buster Keaton on Sunday and have no idea of the odds right now. I am tired of my weekends being messed with like this.
I read two new books and re-read part of a third. It really could have been much worse.
Seriously, my goals for future nights have suddenly become very modest: spend them at home, preferably in bed, without a medical emergency. It shouldn't be so hard!
Thank you. I will. Nothing in the next few days should require anything other than my body getting its act together and my doctors getting usefully back to me, but if that changes, I will keep you in mind.
Hope they found what's been going wrong and how to fix it. Now.
Just sent you e-mail. The problem has been identified; the aetiology is uncertain; what gets done about it depends on the next few days. I am ready for this to be over with.

Thank you. Short-term I should be all right, but I get to call doctors on Monday.

Thank you. It's been identified; it's the taking-care-of part I get to contend with now.

Thank you. The doctors I saw at the ER were very helpful and the doctors I call on Monday had better be.

Right now I don't think so, but I will call if that changes! Thank you.

Yes, please cross "visit ER" off your list of weekend pastimes.
Also, off your list of weekday ones.

I was told around the time I went for my CT scan that it had been a busy night.
Avert avert avert: against another such event.
Thank you.

From your lips to . . . technically my body's ears are my ears, but you know what I mean, all right?
Thank you.
