It's snowing.

There's two or three inches on the ground already. Huge white gusts are blowing past my windows. We're supposed to have fifteen inches before this is all over.

I am very happy.

Yes. (Where do you live now, that you don't have snow?) I'm envious of New York already: they have almost two feet and rising. Oh, New Haven. You only want to be a metropolis.

Tucson--I adore the desert, not for the weather but for the mountains and the deep silences and the huge skies--but I still feel a twinge, whenever there's a deep, sock-you-in sort of snowfall. It's magic, it really is.
