nineweaving's new paperback is very classy. Afterward
derspatchel presented me with a hardcover reprint of Esther Averill's Jenny and the Cat Club (1973) and
sairaali gave me a stunningly adorable hand-knitted nudibranch. I got to talk to
schreibergasse for more than half an hour between job interviews and
audioboy took the picture above. My book is sitting between something with a cat on it and the paperback of a novel I have been waiting for.
Evening: success.

It is! I didn't pick it up last night, because I fell in love with a bilingual edition of Pasolini's poetry, but the purchase of that resulted in a frequent buyers' coupon and therefore I will apply it to Full Fathom Five the next time I'm in the store, because I have heard nothing but good things about that novel and I'm really curious.
. . . That was probably a more detailed answer than you were looking for. I'm really enjoying Pasolini, though.

It is very pettable and endearing. I have put it on a shelf well out of reach of the cats. Have you also seen Saira's mantis?

Saira's work has put me in a mischievous frame of mind. There may be unforeseen crochet consequences. :)

It is a strikingly similar cat! (The eyes are not quite the right color, but I cannot blame the cover designer for not consulting us.) Thank you.

Vienna Teng last night was a very popular choice! I hope it was a good concert. You can come to the next reading!

(On that note: I sent you, April, and Gillian an email a handful of days back re: reading-ish things. At this point, even just chiming in with yea / nay interest from proposed parties is what Ali is looking for from us, seeing as we'd be looking to schedule something for late summer or autumn at this point. I do not know if you have been in that gallery, but it's a lovely little space, and I'm thrilled to have found someone in this city who seems keen to have poets on hand doing their thing!)

Theoretical, but I want to make one happen. I don't usually read outside conventions and I enjoy it.
