The lemon, not the lemon rind

Bad thing that happened today: for the first time, one of our cats did something truly disgusting. Murphy's Oil Soap was required in the cleanup. I have told Hestia that she has forfeited all of her purrycat points.

Good thing that happened today: a package from [livejournal.com profile] elisem arrived in the mail. It's the pendant "Domovoi, I Came Back!" It's a present from [livejournal.com profile] papersky. I had no idea it was on its way until Elise wrote to double-check my address. Thank you! Have a dreadfully blurry photo because that's what my phone is like.

Good wins.

(P.S. Theatre@First's The Mousetrap is fantastic and deserves a writeup when I have time, but until then just get tickets for next weekend, all right? I am delighted that opening night still startled audiences in Somerville, sixty-three years after Christie asked audiences in London not to give the denouement away.)

Sorry about gross cat-ness, but so happy that [livejournal.com profile] elisem created a piece of jewelry for your poem, and that now it's in your possession.

Yes, even better!

I was supposed to hand it to you ages ago at a convention, and I face-palmed mightily upon finding it still in the box of things awaiting their people. I am so very glad it is where it belongs to be, now.

Me too. I am glad it is where it belongs. It's beautiful. And the poem is beautiful.

Hooray for the jewelry gift! Sorry about the cat grossness, but at least you have the jewelry to balance out the day!

I saw the title and thought "hey, I know that song."

Book for Friday!

That is a lovely thing. Wear it in good health. May it inspire you.

It was lovely to see you last night!

I vividly remember watching the movie version of Mousetrap with my mother and both of us jumping to our feet in surprise.

How wonderful that people still get to have that reaction.

Oh no! I have been wrong all these years! It was actually "Deathtrap" (Christopher Reeve and Michael Caine).

Now I'd like to see that again.

I was just thinking about that poem.

Also, I was just thinking about how much time I would have to clean up the horrifying emanations of my pair of chronically ill cats when I get home.
