Whether in sea or fire, in earth or air
My poem "Double Business" is now online at Interfictions. With some irony, I remember it was written for
ajodasso in May 2012 when they had a really nasty ear infection; now it's May 2014 and I just made an appointment with an ENT. This poem was once the recipient of one of the most off-side compliments I've ever received: it was rejected for containing too much quotation. The only Shakespeare in it is the title: and like a man to double business bound, I stand in pause where I shall first begin, and both neglect. I was really flattered.
My mother just sent the following text: "Kitten Day Kitten Day take the rugs off the floor Rush the dust right out the door because it's Kitten Day." We're getting a ride from
audioboy and heading over to Angell within the hour. By the time I post again, there should be actual cats in this house. My bio is out of date!
I can't promise I'll get around to writing up the ART's Tempest, which
derspatchel and I saw last night, but it has some excellent things going for it, especially its music, its magic, and Ariel. It is always instructive for me to learn what I consider most essential about a play from seeing someone else direct it differently.
Kitten Day!

I would be extremely interested to hear what you have to say about that production of The Tempest. I saw a poster for it on the T while I was in town for my sister's graduation, and became immediately sad that I won't be able to get back up there to see it. I can at least hop that Tom Waits will put out a CD of the songs from the show.

The same! I didn't realize it was sold out already. Damn. Maybe it'll come to New York.

I'm hoping it will!

Happy (late) Kitten Day!
I'm glad the Tempest production was excellent.

Thank you! Don't ever give me that kind of inspiration again!
