For the second consecutive year, Strange Horizons has been nominated for a Hugo Award.

Almost everything right now is very bad.

This makes me happy.

Thank you! It really does make me happy, and it's a credit to all the writers and reviewers (and illustrators and readers and webmasters) as well as the editors. All our poets rock.

The ballot this year is quite excellent (except for the *ahem* obvious outliers).

He posted a slate to his blog and encouraged his readers to all buy memberships and nom his slate. (seriously, do-not-link links here and here) I feel terrible for everyone who was sixth or seventh on the short lists, and I wish there was some way prove vote tampering. Ugh.

Mine too, but I suspect Ted Chiang will actually win. I'm still irritated Aliette didn't win best short story last year.
