After the ball was over, Mary wasn't there

The first photographs from Saturday's Halloween party—described here—are starting to come in. (There were four or five cameras, one of which was mine. I am picking up my photographs this afternoon, but it will take a little longer to transfer them to CD. I do not own a digital camera. Want to make something of it? I write on papyrus, too.) This one's courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] spectre_general. Most of us have red-eye from hell, but otherwise I think we look rather good; if not generally like ourselves.

(Cut so as to break no one's brain or computer.)

left to right: Eckehart Urban (Officer Feelgood), Denise Elshoff (a Goth), Crispin Barker (a Chicago gangster, circa 1920), myself (Persephone in winter, otherwise known as: wearing a lot of black underthings and carrying a pomegranate, which is not visible from this angle), Bobbi Sutherland (a 1930's film starlet), Jeff Mankoff (Humphrey Bogart), Caitie Barrett (a Viking princess), Torger Vedeler (his sister), Chris Crick (Major "King" Kong), and Andrew Bonia (a Ghostbuster). The cat-faced acrobat in the front row is Ainsley Dicks (Munkustrap).

More soon to follow, I hope.

Oh my lord, you know Caitie Barrett? I went to college with her.

I'm also a Caitie-acquaintance from college (Harvard). Very cool girl.

I think that a certain cantorial student would flip out. But I think that he could be a good Humphrey Bogart given some coaching.

Does Persephone represent your alter ego, or who you were in history and myth, or just a fun way to dress at costume parties? Someday, I'm imagining doing a study on the myth of Persephone in Sonya Taaffe's work, unless that's already been done :) Glad to hear there are more reviews circulating out there. I'm still reading!
