Infinitely slowly, but it grows

My flash piece "And Black Unfathomable Lakes" has been accepted by Not One of Us. I had sent it to [livejournal.com profile] lesser_celery for an opinion on whether it worked independent of The Brides of Dracula (1960), whose ending inspired it: apparently the answer was yes. Blame [livejournal.com profile] handful_ofdust. I am very pleased about this. Among other things, it is the first fiction of any length I've been able to finish in some time.

(Happy centenary, Peter Cushing.)

Oh, no problem! I'm probably going to revisit, expand and fold that post into one which also looks at Prospero's Mirror, another small press book I recently bought because its protagonist is M.R. James, which I didn't find quite as successful in its RPF aspirations. But yeah, this is totally your kind of book. There's at least one passage I feel like you could have written, which I'll quote.
