This morning I had nightmares so bad I had to look at my cellphone to see whether they'd happened. If it was Saturday, they hadn't; if it was Sunday, they had. It was Saturday, so I fell back asleep and dreamed I had tickets to a production of Julius Caesar that was about two-thirds the one Harriet Walter is currently starring in, but the events of the first nightmare had still happened. I am waiting for e-mails and worried about technology. I am sleeping hours less than I have since before Florida and dreaming badly when I do.

I need to write something.

I hate it when dreams seem to bleed into reality like that, even when they are not nightmares. I hope you have better sleep and better dreams tonight. (Or perhaps that you are already having them, given that it is nearly 11pm)

Thanks. I haven't yet fallen asleep, but I don't want to be awake late tonight. I just don't want the same continuity of dreams.

Are you kidding? I've been trying to see that (and Three Cases of Murder) for years!

Dead of Night scared the living daylights out of me (appropriately enough) when I was about 12. Is it not available on Region 1? Does your DVD not understand the sekrit code to make itself multi-region?

It wasn't for years . . . The internet tells me it's now on DVD with The Queen of Spades (1949) which I've also wanted to see for years due to Anton Walbrook, Edith Evans, Yvonne Mitchell and other people I like. And has been for some time. Hm. Well, then: thank you, Anchor Bay.

(I don't mind knowing about sekrit codes, either.)
