Resurrected, living in a lighthouse
Niteblade #21 has met its issue costs, so my poem "Phersu" is now fully online with the rest of the contents. The poem was originally published in Not One of Us #42; it was written in pretty much direct consequence of the naming of Vanth, about a week after
selidor sent me the very first image of the moon, taken from the Hubble Space Telescope in 2005. It might be a good poem for October. The title is cognate with the Latin persona: mask. The deep-space photo hangs on my wall below two elemental pen-drawings done by my best friend in high school, next to the poster for The Big Broadcast of October 30th, 1938 and sort of on the diagonal from the self-portrait of my watercolor housemate, Richard de Menocal. It's not quite an Etruscan tomb painting, but it will do until then.

kraada the other interesting person I share a birthday with who isn't PJ Harvey, I did manage to recall that it's Camille Saint-Saëns, but I had no idea about Alastair Sim or Jacques Tati. (Also Brian Blessed, but I don't think I should say that too loudly.) Rock on, October.

YES YOU SHOULD!

That was inevitable.

Harvey, Sim, and Blessed are way more impressive than sharing a birthday with Sarah Palin and Thomas Edison. You got all the cool kids.

I do consider it among my better accomplishments.
Well done on "Phersu".
Thank you!
You got all the cool kids.
You got Leó Szilárd and Patrick Leigh Fermor! That is not small potatoes!
(And Jane Yolen! She's one of the first real authors I remember reading. Happy very early birthday!)

If it makes you feel any better, it wasn't much of a day for the Vilna Gaon and Jacques Brel.

It's cool that you have those folk to share your birthday with. I think I have Chuck Berry, Martina Navratilova, and, I'm ashamed to admit, Jesse Helms.
Rock on, October.
Indeed!

I don't know how much credit I can take, but I'm glad!

Hey, do not overlook Lotte Lenya! Or Klaus Kinski. Or Peter Boyle.

Good point. Thanks!
