Didn't I say that on the other side of the record?

1. In honor of Peter Bergman, [livejournal.com profile] lesser_celery and I decided to forego our usual Millennium in favor of Firesign Theatre. He brought over his copy of How Can You Be in Two Places at Once When You're Not Anywhere at All (1969) and we listened to "The Further Adventures of Nick Danger." It didn't take very long to get to the other side of the record. I believe a number has been done on my head. "Look at this grape!"

2. I think it takes a very particular kind of shallow to read a mixed review for a television show that is not even playing in your country and think, "Why am I not watching that? Lee Ingleby looks smashing in a sweater vest." But he's playing an early computing geek!

3. Lost Hollywood jewelry. I knew nothing of Eugene Joseff. The photo of him with the crown and scepter from The Prisoner of Zenda (1937) is immensely endearing.

It is nine o'clock and I'm exhausted. Oh, God, what if I'm becoming diurnal?

When you mentioned that your subject line the other day came from Firesign Theatre, I had a moment of nostalgia for something I myself never knew. My best friend from high school had been very into Firesign Theatre--I remember her mentioning it and quoting it.
