Not One of Us, edited by John Benson, brought out two good issues in '04. Not all the stories are dark but they're at the very least strange, and most of them are well worth reading. Some of the best are by Sonya Taaffe, Mark Steensland, Danny Adams, Marc Lecard, and Patricia Russo. Also, Subnatural, Benson's annual one-off, had good mixed-genre work.

Congratulations. I've bought every YBFH since it started (as YBF), and I haven't seen many people receive 10 honorable mentions in a single year. I'm off to Borders and/or Barnes & Noble this weekend to buy the new edition. Thanks for including the bit about Not One of Us. It was a good year for our zine, in no small part because of you.

Especially given the honorable mentions Not One of Us picks up every year, I was very glad to see it finally receive more than a one-line mention (". . . it exists") in the summaries. And don't flatter me than more than is my due: you edit the magazine. This is all your fault.
