Whether the future's bright or we're out of luck
Yesterday I expected to do almost nothing at all. I even succeeded for most of the day. Then I watched the next installment of Millennium with
lesser_celery (who also brought over his wedding pictures, so that I could finally see some of the faces that go with his graduate school stories), and in the evening wound up at The Burren and Finale with
derspatchel (Burdick's on a weeknight locks its doors at nine o'clock on the dot! Who thought that was a good idea?), and now I have a DVD of Cold Comfort Farm (1995) and it looks like I'm going to attend the Boston Science Fiction Film Festival's 'Thon on Sunday.
Also my poem "Taking the Auspices" has been nominated for the 2012 Rhysling Award.
I'm not complaining.

I'm very fond of Cold Comfort Farm. If I were ever to meet Ian McKellen, it would be very difficult for me to refrain from roaring certain quotes at him.
The book is one of my go-to novels for sick days: it doesn't require much by way of brains, and it's silly enough to be distracting.

Thank you!

Hah! My thesis is proven.
