I don't want to send secondhand notes

Right, so that Lyrics Meme? Answers, although everybody seems to have recognized #10:

1) It must have been Don Pasquale makin' a two a.m. booty call
(Bob Dylan, "Cry A While")

2) Strange is your language and I have no decoder
(Peter Gabriel, "Intruder")

3) Sad enough my life's a joke that suffers in the telling
("Funny," City of Angels—the musical, not the film)

4) There's thunder all around me and there's poison in the air
(Great Big Sea, "The Chemical Worker's Song")

5) Some kind of verb, some kind of moving thing
(Soul Coughing, "Super Bon Bon"—or the Propellerheads remix, which is what I own)

6) He came riding fast like a phoenix out of fire-flames
(PJ Harvey, "The Dancer")

7) My favorite dreams of you still wash ashore
(Nine Inch Nails, "Something I Can Never Have")

8) Lips grow cold with the rent to meet
("I Don't Care Much," Cabaret)

9) Do you feel too much? Do you feel too real?
(Marianne Faithfull, "In the Factory")

10) With the lights out, it's less dangerous
(Nirvana, "Smells Like Teen Spirit")

11) Let nothing confuse me or faze me—excuse me!
("I'm Calm," A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum)

12) Love turns grey like the skin of a dying man
("One of My Turns," Pink Floyd's The Wall)

13) She's a highly specialized key component of operational unity
("A Secretary Is Not A Toy," How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying)

14) Now they're going to bed and my stomach is sick
(The Killers, "Mr. Brightside")

15) And if the Devil is six, then God is seven
(The Pixies, "Monkey Gone to Heaven"—although my computer actually came up with the PJ Harvey cover)

#7 was the one I didn't realize was on my computer; I thought I owned only The Downward Spiral and a few random tracks from Pretty Hate Machine. Not like I was displeased to discover it, mind you . . .

Which era Marianne Faithful was #9? "Time Is On My Side" airy pop singer or "The Memory Remains" freaky zombie?

Speaking of NIN...have I ever played you the Madrigal version of "Head like a Hole"? Even if you're not a fan, it's hilarious.
And totally unrelated: you mentioned speaking at a panel on "Women writing gay men" a while back. Have you ever read any Lynn Flewelling? (No particular reason why you would have, but I thought she did it rather well in her fantasy novels)

I see I got two artists and one song title partially right. Well, when you have my prize package ready you can send it to the address on my userinfo page.
On a tangent, I found The Rediscovery of Man in a nearby library system and it should be coming in tomorrow. I'm excited. Might I perhaps gauchely importune you at some point to pithily analyze one of his characters?
