I need help to hold this love

On the one hand, this was a kind of a terrible year for publication:

"To the Mistress of the Labyrinth, Honey" in Sirenia Digest #61, January 2011.
"Sefer Yetzirah" in Love Is a Hurtin' Thing (ed. John Benson), January 2011.
"Abite Laeti, Abite Locupletes" in Moral Relativism Magazine #1, January 2011.
"The King of Cats, the Queen of Wolves" (with Mike Allen and Nicole Kornher-Stace) in Apex Magazine #22, March 2011.
"The New Alexandria" in Jabberwocky #5, March 2011.
"Persephone in Hel" in Stone Telling #3, March 2011.
"A Wolf in Iceland Is the Child of a Lie" in Not One of Us #45, April 2011.
"Incubation" in Not One of Us #45, April 2011.
"Lucan in Averno" in ChiZine #47, May 2011.
"Wisdom" in Mythic Delirium #24, June 2011.
"Shnirele, Perele" in Stone Telling #4, June 2011.
"Drowning Like You Mean It" in Sirenia Digest #69, September 2011.
"Taking the Auspices" in inkscrawl #2, September 2011.
"Graffiti" in Stone Telling #5, September 2011.
"Sheydim-tants" in Not One of Us #46, September 2011.
"Cemetery Theater" in Not One of Us #46, September 2011.
"The Description of a Wish" in Mythic Delirium #25, December 2011.

On the other:

A Mayse-Bikhl, Papaveria Press, November 2011.

I was paid for a reading for the first time in my life; I edited five months' worth of poetry for Strange Horizons (and I'm still reading for December for twelve hours more). Some of the poems I wrote this year are my favorites so far. I had some reprints accepted by anthologies that really mattered to me. The rest of the year, I can't calculate.

Next year is not guaranteed to be better. But I really want it to be.

Pretty good, I'd call that: what's there is cherce. May next year be even better.

I'm with Nine here. I've had two stories published this year, so I'm a bit envious.

...but disregarding that, good luck to you.

Looks good to me! (I had only one publication.)

*ahem* Regarding specifically your list of publications: by what standard is that a terrible year? ;-p

[identity profile] ap-aelfwine.livejournal.com 2011-12-31 07:47 pm (UTC)(link)
That's a pretty good list, really. Better than mine,* at least.

I hope next year will be better for you, also.

ETA: Best Wishes for the New Year!

*I finally managed to write one whole poem this year. See my latest post for details.

Thanks. You, too.

Thanks.

Cool!

Thank you!

Time marches on, and my statement is out of date, as it's now my next-to-latest post. (I started to say "penultimate", but then I thought "penultimate" might be as easily applied to my second post ever. Heavens, I can be pedantic, can't I be?)

Your year in publication hardly looks terrible to me. Just saying.

Next year will be better.

Looks like a pretty good publishing year to me!

I hope 2012 is everything you want it to be.
