And we all have so many faces
Thanks to the ingenious
mswyrr (and the patient
matociquala, who graciously permitted us to use her livejournal as a public forum for icon-making), I now have a new icon! Actually, I have two new icons. Behold quintessential Englishman and all-round easy on the eyes actor Leslie Howard as my favorite fictional detective and one of my all-time favorite characters, Lord Peter Wimsey. I can't imagine there will be much detecting in my online life—the mysteries in my life at the moment are things like, "What is this 'mourning Eros' doing on the reverse of coins from Nikopolis? And how did I let myself get talked into trying to find this out?"—but if I need to piffle disarmingly, at least I have an icon for it now.
"Do you find it easy to get drunk on words?"
"So easy that, to tell the truth, I am seldom perfectly sober. Which accounts for my talking so much."

Placet.

Me neither. Some kind, anonymous somebody gave me two months of paid account time a little while. It's running out, though. Soon I'll be back to three. I dunno how I'll choose which ones to keep... I think that's I've become even more of an icon-obsessive than usual lately.
I will have to keep my more-than-three gorgeous Lord Peter icons in some kind of rotation.
Sounds like a good idea.
(But they are gorgeous.)
The one I'm wearing feels kind of ... unfinished. Do you think so? Have any idea what sort of final touch would make it come together? Is it that distracting white blot that's niggling, maybe?
Hmm...
I was going for a "pulp detective novel" look, like that bit in Have His Carcass where Lord Peter is compared with the hero of the novels the victim liked, the ones about the villainous Purple Python and the heroic Lord Chillingfold. You know, bending iron with his "artistic fingers"?
