I think it's the distracting white blur above his name, more than anything else; otherwise the black-and-white photograph is set very nicely against the sepia background. It is a good pulp detective pose. Is it worth (and is there room) putting the words "Artistic Fingers" somewhere on the icon, to make the reference clear?
