Go right on over to meet your doom

I am at Readercon. It is not the only reason I would be awake at this hour, but it's quite a good one. I just need to hope that my first two panels really are the kind I can do in my sleep . . .

(So far, though, so good. I wandered around Davis and Porter Squares with [livejournal.com profile] rushthatspeaks and [livejournal.com profile] gaudior before catching most of the Naked City reading at Porter Square Books; I have a copy of Michael Cisco's The Great Lover (2010) and the new English translation of Verlaine's Poèmes saturniens (1866) by Karl Kirchwey; I am scheduled across from [livejournal.com profile] greygirlbeast's reading in an hour, but I heard her read the chapter anyway last night. Saw [livejournal.com profile] hans_the_bold in person for the first time in far too long. Currently drinking cinnamon tea, because it turns out you can do that with the coffeemakers in the rooms. Wish me luck.)

Back to the Army again, sergeant,
    Back to the Army again.
Rather too free with my fancies? Wot—me?
I'm back to the Army again!

Kick ass, take names, drink tea? Thinking of you.

Huzzah for enjoying yourself! And I will request more details later on all readings. I took a slightly ill advised but definitely emotionally recalibrating writing break to watch 20-year-old footage of Jim Henson's memorial service. This is not to say it wasn't extremely excellent and necessary.

And now, back to the Regency mines.

Don't buy too many books. I know! I'm sorry.

There's something strangely decadent and luxurious about taking advantage of the free hot beverages in hotel rooms.

Glad you're there, and I hope you have a wonderful time!

I also hope the cinnamon tea is both good and strengthening.

I'm delighted for the going well part, but sorry for the exhausted. I hope you can get some rest soon, without missing too much of anything. (I know this may be a vain hope, as my hopes usually are, but there's always a chance.)
