I'm as mysterious to myself as I am mysterious to others

Leonora Carrington. I had just been pleasantly surprised to discover she was still alive and painting!

[livejournal.com profile] time_shark, write her a muse, even if it was herself.

Sometime I shall find out why I stayed so long here, while I am happily contemplating reindeer and snow, cherry trees, meadows, the song of the thrush.

Oh!! I didn't know she was still alive. This is fabulous - I love her art.

ETA: It's not fabulous that she died, obviously, but that she lived this long. I need to stop commenting while tired.

Damn. But what a life! What art!

"The Carringtons, anxious about their daughter's wanderings across war-torn Europe, took the exotic step of sending her nanny to Spain in a submarine...."

I shall now go forth and learn about her stuff. Right after I hunt down and kill whosoever ordered this heat.

Ghastly, isn't it?

It may take me a little bit to get to it....

Fascinating story. I wish I'd heard of her sooner. Thank you for sharing.

Leonora Carrington was the best... her existence was tremendously affirming to me. I had thought she was dead already, she seemed so much to belong to another age...

Unrelatedly, I have to thank you for something in which you actually had no complicity-- I stumbled upon Not One of Us through your journal, and have just settled one of my stranger stories there, which is very exciting.
