And if it's not true nowhere, it has to be somewhere

I woke to the news: Diana Wynne Jones, 1934—2011.

I read her before I could remember reading. I never wanted to write her in the past tense.

So did I. All three counts.

Oh no.

*hugs you*

May her memory be a blessing. She has been a source of comfort and laughter for me for more years than I can remember.

So sorry--you and my younger daughter were the first people I thought of when I heard the news....

I was just reading Enchanted Glass, and thinking about her gracious response to a fan letter I wrote her as a teenager.

I'm so sorry to know she's gone.

Oh no. I'm so sorry.

This is the first I've heard. I don't know if she's being overshadowed by Geraldine Ferraro (RIP), or if it's simply that I'm not very well plugged into the news.

Her memory for a blessing. And thank you for letting me know the sad news.

No words.

Love,

Nine

You know, I was unimpressed by the universe yesterday morning, as it did not make for a pleasant start to the 30th birthday. :( I wonder if she was working on anything. And it's terrible, the thought that there won't be any more Chrestomanci stories.
