Madness brings me nearer to your love

The short version: despite a horrifying shortage of sleep, Arisia turned out to be delightful, especially the programming on Sunday. I left with new songs, a variety of contact information, and a modest but satisfying book haul, including Elizabeth Hand's Illyria (2007), John Monahan's They Called Me Mad: Genius, Madness, and the Scientists Who Pushed the Outer Limits of Knowledge (2010), and Glenn Grant's Burning Days (2011). [livejournal.com profile] cucumberseed gave me the original watercolor of the Shokkal haruspex I use as a livejournal icon. I owe him serious poems.

The longer version: will have to wait. But it was worth getting up before seven o'clock for, and so few things are.
