1. It is very likely that I will be offline for the rest of today, as I am seeing the American stage premiere of Franz Schreker's Der ferne Klang (1912) at Bard College tonight. My mother was offered five-dollar rush tickets for being an alumna. At that price, I can almost afford it. Hello, upstate New York.

Tell me about it. It's .. sort of a flexible term, I find. The most common one around here seems to be "anything outside reasonably-priced taxi distance from Manhattan." What I was referring to personally was that Bard College is sort of a hop, skip and a jump from my front door. :)
