Another one I wish I could read in the original. If only maintaining and improving the language I need didn't take up so much effort... Ah, well, that's the way of things. But if the SFnal "learn a language in your sleep" thing ever becomes available, Latin's going to be pretty high on my list.
I had one friend at college who, a third generation classicist, who insisted that Catullus was a better essayist than a poet. I've no way of judging the matter, but I've always wondered if he was a bit off or not.
