And always in our ears was the sound of the ocean

Chanteys for the Fisherangels is now available from Papaveria Press.

You may remember I spoke of this project in the winter; I think it is one of the more numinous things I have been involved with. The book collects four poems inspired by James Yorkston's cover of Lal Waterson's "Midnight Feast": [livejournal.com profile] seajules' "The sky is the floor of an ocean," my own "The Coast Guard," [livejournal.com profile] asakiyume's "Invitation Refused," and [livejournal.com profile] cucumberseed's "Feather, Halo, Hook and Line," with introduction by [livejournal.com profile] nineweaving and photographs by me. I took them in Portland, Maine, where I grew up in the summers by the sea.

There are thirty-three copies, twenty-five of which are available for purchase. They are bound with linen, shells, and feathers, and the sea has worked on them. Go; study; pick one up from the sand and take it home. [livejournal.com profile] erzebet's work is something rich and strange.
